title : Gibberish
The mind is fickle. The heart wary. He offered me a permanent job, of which I still have to ponder over within the next 2 weeks.
He said: "If it was someone else other than you, I'd have told them to aim for Columbia. For you - Harvard. Why aim for something second-rated when you can achieve the best?" He believes I can score well for GMAT. Add in my writing skills. Then throw in 2 years in a management consultancy. By then, even Harvard will start offering me a position, maybe even a scholarship. Maybe I'll look back upon this post one day and fondly remember the turning point in life. How I managed to succeed in life. Maybe if I do end up doing an MBA and then work in an investment bank (the institution where all greedy, money-centric crooks apply to) I'll end up no different from the despicable bankers that brought us the recent financial meltdown. Or maybe.. I'll leverage on this career, be a columnist for The Economist, a news reporter for CNBC, write my way about head-spinning, mind-boggling personal finance and economic situations; give my teachers a good surprise: who knew someone as significant *waggles a crooked finger my feature piece in the Wall Street Journal* could be so darn brilliant (oh how I wish). Or maybe.. I will be the next Rebecca Bloomwood from the Shopholic series, a great fraud when it comes to smoking her way into editorial success, someone who masks her identity behind a marketable name "The girl with the green scarf".. Or maybe.. this job will have little to no impact on me whatsoever. I'll be building castles in the air, dreaming my impossible dream of hitting it big with a bestseller, meeting the man of my dreams, getting a sea-side mansion for a house, a black audi sedan and 2 adorable dogs for company. Oh look, the gibberish of a blogpost I've just created! |
